Rules The entire team may collaborate on this test. So far this award has been given to three people: Gunter Lind Germany , Gunnar Tibell Sweden and posthumously to Waldemar Gorzkowski Poland. The contest allows students to flex their Physics muscles attempting to solve a very challenging problem.

Congratulation Carly, Parker, Vijay, Jacob, and Matthew! The undergraduate program committee oversees the undergraduate physics program as a whole. There are also awards for the top three teams with the best performance over all 5 events. Note that registration for each part is separate.

Cash prizes are only awarded to Canadian students but all international students are welcome to compete for fun. Teachers who register teams students may not register themselves will receive a confirmation email with login numbers and passwords for each team. Teams can consist of one or two students. Teachers are asked to indicate what grade the team is in. All teams in Grades 9 to 11 compete against each other in one category and all teams in Grade 12 compete in the other category. If a student has taken, or is currently taking Grade 12 physics they are considered Grade 12 for the university physics competition of this Competition, all other studetns are considered Grade 11 or below. The contest is designed for upper year high school students and is based on physics in the Grade 11 and 12 curriculum, but all interested students are encouraged to participate regardless of grade. On the day of the competition Wednesday, December 5th, 2018teams may go to and login to compete at any time after 7:30 a. Teams may submit their answers online anytime before 5:30 p. Teachers will act as local event coordinators, and provide appropriate supervision for the event. Teams will be judged on the basis of the number of questions answered correctly. In the event of a tie, the team with the shortest elapsed time will be declared the winner. Teams whose elapsed time exceeds 1 hour and 30 minutes will not be considered for a prize. Rules The Online Part will present interesting definitions or advanced concepts in one broad area of physics. Very similar to the previous one. It does not mean a tenured faculty member cannot be fired for not living up to the requirements of their contract for example, not showing up to teach or not doing research. The program is designed to help minority students achieve their Ph. The competition lasts 10 days and after a couple of months the best solutions are being announced.
